THE STRENGTH OF HIS WORD

Journal Entry by Tony Gebran

S – Scripture: Psalms 119:17-24 (NLT)

"Be good to your servant, that I may live and obey your word. Open my eyes to see the wonderful truths in your instructions.  I am only a foreigner in the land. Don’t hide your commands from me! I am always overwhelmed with a desire for your regulations. You rebuke the arrogant; those who wander from your commands are cursed. Don’t let them scorn and insult me, for Ii have obeyed your laws. Even princes sit and speak against me, but I will meditate on your decrees. Your laws please me; they give me wise advice.”

O - Observation
This is a wonderful part of scripture that portrays to me the protection I have in obeying God’s word and applying it to my life. It speaks to me that as I read his word daily then its HIS WORD that begins to mould, instruct, guide and directs me through all the issues I face on a daily basis.

A - Application
How important is it to have his word be the first thing that speaks to you each day. It allows this to be the foundation for all the decisions/actions that will take place for the remainder of the day. I am reminded by the words of Jesus in Mathew 24:35 ‘Heaven and earth will pass away but my words will never disappear”.

P - Prayer
Thank You that your words to me are a light to my pathway and acts as a guard-rail that keeps me for without them Lord we are helpless. Amen.
